Six-seat outrigger canoes trained off Sentosa, with change races around the region. Open-water paddling at its purest — swim test required.
OC1 and small craft for paddlers who want solo time on the water — technique, fitness and quiet mornings before the city wakes up.
Land training keeps the crews sharp; the social calendar keeps them together. We train hard, but we don't forget to play hard.

In 2024 our crew reached the grand finals at the IDBF Club Crew World Championships in Ravenna, Italy — with consistent medal placements at home.
Total beginners share the boat with race crews. All nationalities, fitness levels and genders welcome — regular trial sessions make starting easy.

What paddlers say about training with Austcham on Google.
"Such an amazing team! Before I joined Austcham, I was not a very sporty person, but the team was so welcoming. There is a diverse mix of expats and locals, great team spirit, awesome fun on and off the water! For those wanting to try Dragon boating, Austcham is a fantastic team!"
"I joined the club 2 yrs ago with a few goals: lose weight, meet some new friends, have fun, and learn a new skill/sport. Austcham paddle club helped me achieve all of this. While there are Australian roots, the club is international in its membership base, family-oriented, but equally competitive for those seeking medals and heated competition, professional coaching and even international events. It's been a great choice for me and I would recommend the club and sport to anyone. Have a go!!!"
"I never tried dragonboat before, and I'm glad I did it with Austcham! The team was welcoming and gave me lots of instruction so I could learn how to do it. There's a good balance of social fun and events and competition. I joined to try a new sport and have now been with the team for a few years - glad I found this quirky and fun group."
"You definitely don't need to be Aussie to join Austcham Paddle Club 🦘 — most of us aren't! This club's a great balance for both the competitive type wanting to try a new sport 🥇, and those just in it for the social vibes and post-paddle BEERS 🍻. The crew's a fun mix of expats and local Singaporeans 🇸🇬, super welcoming and down-to-earth. It's chill, funny, and one of the most relaxed (but still VERY successful) communities in Singapore 😎🏆"

Getting Started
Dawn paddles, evening land sessions, weekend crews — find the sessions that fit your week.
Tell us a bit about yourself and we'll point you at the next Newbie Day or the right session for your level.
Everything first-timers ask us, there are no stupid questions.
Absolutely. Most of our paddlers started with zero experience. All nationalities, fitness levels and genders are welcome (ages 15+), our coaches teach the basics from stroke one, and regular Newbie Days are built exactly for first-timers. Trial sessions are $25
Start with the trial package — two dragon boat sessions. Send us the enquiry form or message us on WhatsApp and we'll point you at the next session.
Dragon boat sessions run from the Kallang Water Sports Centre, 10 Stadium Lane — a short walk from Stadium MRT. Outrigger sessions launch from Sentosa. Aim to arrive 10–15 minutes early so the crew hits the water on time.
The training essentials:
For dragon boat, personal flotation devices are available, so confident swimming isn't a hard requirement. For outrigger, a swim test without a PFD is mandatory — be honest with yourself about your water confidence, and check the weather and tide forecast before sessions.
A group warm-up on land, technique work, then the bulk of the session on the water — around 1.5 to 2 hours all up, scaled to the crew on the day.
Yes, visiting paddlers are welcome to join our sessions. Just check our schedule and contact us to confirm availability.
